Paul
Paul, owner of Maverick Boat Adventures (MBA) lives at the ocean playground of Seaford bay and decided a business with family and friends on the water would be his dream! Paul’s been driving boats of all types since he was a kid and to date is a commercially endorsed boatman, holds a RYA Yacht master theory certification, a Ski Boat Driver Level 2 and a UKCC Level 2 instructor for wakeboarding and water skiing.
Paul is the company’s welfare officer and head instructor for all water sports activities and ocean boat trips. His aim is to build the business to cover all disciplines of water activities for all ages and abilities.
Paul by trade is a mechanical design engineer and in his free time is a level 2 rugby coach to his local club, a PADI open water advanced diver, enjoys BBQ’s on the beach and travelling around Europe with his family.
Sarah
Sarah joined the team in 2020 as head skipper for all private boat charters and regular tours. Sarah’s been working around the world for over 14 years with BA as cabin crew specialising in hospitality and has a BTEC in hospitality supervision.
Sarah has always been around boats and today is a commercially endorsed boatsman with years of experience in all key aspects of fire fighting, first aid and sea survival, she is a hugely confident individual with any tasks at hand making her the perfect addition to make our company grow.
Sarah loves snorkelling, wakeboarding and anything adrenaline, we are so excited to have her as part of Maverick bringing fun and excitement to every day activities.
Indie
A true Maverick Mascot. You’ll find Indie the dog on most boat trips accompanied by her owner- Skipper Paul. She shares the same love for the water and boats to Paul and also makes the perfect blanket on the chilly days.
Lee
Lee’s passion for all things water began when he was 18 and fortunate enough to travel through South East Asia down the Mekong River on a slow boat. Then onto Thailand where he ventured out on long tail boats island hopping various Thai islands. He’s canoed through the Nooser Everglades and spent 2 seasons out in the Alps snowboarding and down hill mountain biking.
Lee gained his open water PADI scuba diving license in Koa Tao and his advanced diver license in Australia whilst diving the Yonagala wreck whilst making contact with a 2m Bull Shark. Lee joined us at the start of 2022 and is now a fully qualified commercially endorsed skipper. He has a passion for meeting new people and being part of someone’s vacation/ experience. He’s a delight to everyone he meets.
Craig
Craig has spent most of his life on the water and has tried pretty much every water sport activity going. Craig grew up in Seaford and has enjoyed this East Sussex coast from a young age driving boats and jet ski’s. If he’s not on a boat you’ll most likely find him in the sea sporting other hobbies such as kitesurfing, wakeboarding and snorkelling.
Craig joined the Maverick team at the start of 2022. His years of sea experience and also by trade as a welder fabricator and previous mechanic/marine mechanic makes him a fantastic addition to the team. Craig is a fully qualified commercially endorsed skipper, he brings a friendly, calm presence to Maverick and has many fantastic sea stories to share with you all.
Steve
Meet Steve – Our Expert Skipper & Local Water Sports Enthusiast!
Steve joined the Maverick team in summer 2023 as a fully qualified, commercially endorsed skipper. With a passion for wakeboarding and travel, he’s always up for an adrenaline rush, making him the perfect person to lead our Seven Sisters Jet Ski Safari Tours and boat trips!
Born and raised in Newhaven, Steve knows the local waters like the back of his hand. His in-depth knowledge of the coastline and its fascinating history adds an extra dimension to every trip. With five years of experience piloting RIB boats and running water-based activities, he ensures every adventure is both safe and exciting.
Beyond Maverick, Steve dedicates his time as a volunteer crew member at the Newhaven RNLI boat station, helping to keep local waters safe. His skills, experience, and enthusiasm make him a fantastic part of the team—whether you’re joining him on a fast-paced jet ski safari or a scenic boat trip, you’re in great hands!
Chris
Introducing Chris, our 2024 addition to the Maverick Boat Adventures team. Chris is Paul’s twin brother and cut from the same adventurous cloth. Since childhood, Chris and Paul have been together on the water, from tearing it up on monoskis in Seaford Bay to fishing with mates.
Chris’s love for the sea runs deep, and you’ll often find him out on his own boat, cruising the waves or catching some wind for a thrilling kitesurfing session at Tidemills. With over 25 years of experience in boating and a range of water sports, he’s a seasoned pro.
His credentials speak for themselves – from holding an advanced PADI Open Water certificate to being a fully qualified commercially endorsed skipper. But what truly sets Chris apart is his infectious passion for adventure and his knack for bringing laughter to our Maverick crew. With Chris on board, every trip promises excitement and unforgettable memories on the open water.
